Our History

Bishkek Innovation University was founded in 2018 with a vision to create a new type of educational institution focused on technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The university was established in response to the growing demand for skilled professionals in the digital economy and the need to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan.

In its first year, BISU welcomed 150 students across three undergraduate programs. Since then, the university has grown rapidly, expanding its academic offerings, research capabilities, and international partnerships. Today, BISU is recognized as one of the leading institutions for technology education in Central Asia.

Key milestones in our history include:

  • 2018: Founding of Bishkek Innovation University
  • 2019: Launch of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • 2020: Introduction of graduate programs in AI and Digital Transformation
  • 2021: Establishment of the first AI Research Center in Kyrgyzstan
  • 2022: Recognition as a "Center of Excellence in Digital Education" by the Ministry of Education
  • 2023: Launch of the Blockchain Research Laboratory
  • 2024: Expansion of international partnerships with universities in Europe, Asia, and North America
  • 2025: Introduction of new programs in Cybersecurity and Digital Health
